At the moment, The Mission enviably has a waiting list of organisations wishing to volunteer their staff to help us out.
More often than not, it isn't easy for us to have a large project readily available for corporate volunteer teams on a nominated date. This is because volunteer work at The Mission is seasonal (at event time we need lots of help), unpredictable (we are The Mission - we have to roll with it sometimes!) and resource-heavy (it takes time to brief volunteer teams about projects, and we don't have a whole heap of spare time). However! Offers of help are important to us, and our team will always try to assist you with your thoughts, talk through the current areas we could do with help on and also share with you the sort of volunteer work that is important to us.
There are many ways your workplace can help us ... even if we cannot get you all in here to physically assist with manual work.
The Mission needs to raise millions a year to run our services, so have you thought about some fundraising activities you may be able to do as a team - with the funds coming to The Mission? What about a fun run? Bring & Buy? Raffle? What about a TradeMe auction of something on behalf of The Mission? Who's a great home baker? Film Fundraiser? Quiz Nights are always fun too, don't you think? Do you have an annual event, to which any profit (after costs) could be gifted to us? Put on those thinking caps - and we will love you forever!
