Mission Real Life Story

I met the Mission for Seniors nurse after the social worker at the hospital suggested support after I had a really bad fall.  I had also recently lost my husband, and I knew I had become isolated and lonely.  I didn't want to go to church anymore ... even eating was a real chore.  I felt empty and had lost confidence. It was my way of coping.  We took it slow to get to know each other, and then we began going out to attend my medical appointments together.  It was reassuring to know that the nurse was there to support me and help me understand the things all the medical staff were telling me.

When she last visited I was out to church daily, and hardly ever at home!  Mission for Seniors came into my life at the right time, and I feel confident and interested in life again.  I even visit the New Dose Museum whenever there is a new exhibition on - things are good!
