More About Our Facility

 

We offer five levels of care: 

  1. Rest Home Care
  2. Continuing Hospital Care
  3. Intermittent Care on a regular programme
  4. Respite Care, or short-term crisis/carer relief
  5. Convalescent Care

We care for people aged 60 to over 100 year of age, who are from a large range of cultural and ethnic groups.  The staff hope to make each person's stay with us as pleasant and supportive of client, family and friends as possible, regardless of how long or short their stay happens to be.

Kemp Home & Hospital has been extensively refurbished.  The facility accommodates rest home clients and also those who require constant nursing care.  Thus clients include those who are relatively independent and others who require continuous support.  This arrangement means that whatever level of abilities a client has on admission, a change in his/her condition will not necessitate a transfer to another facility.

Most clients have individual rooms with shared en suites. Kemp Home & Hospital also offers double rooms, in which more dependent clients are cared for.  Each unit is staffed to meet the needs of particular clients.  Wherever possible, client choice directs the placement of clients in the facility, but change in abilities may require transfer to areas with staff levels able to provide a higher level of care.

The grounds are designed to allow walking, and feature sheltered sitting areas, with attractive gardens, trees and lawns.

Entertainment and special events such as dances and concerts occur regularly and are advertised on the notice board outside the main dining room, with friends and family are welcome to attend these events.  Daily activities such as cooking, exercise groups and bowls are also listed on the notice board.

All clients are encouraged to use the facility as they would their own home, to the extent that it does not interfere with the freedom of others.  To this end each unit has a large lounge or smaller seating areas for the use of clients and families, there are tea-making facilities in each unit and smoking rooms are also available for those who wish to use them.
