What We Do » Kemp Home & Hospital » Visiting
Visitors to Kemp Home & Hospital are welcome at all times. The local bus stops outside the front door and connects with the train service at Porirua station. Current timetables are available at the reception desk. There is also plenty of parking in the grounds (reserved outside the main entrance) and on the streets outside. The staff hope that families and friends will feel at home and free to take part in whatever activities are on at the time they visit, or even to plan visits to take part in special activities. Meals can be provided on request at a small cost.
Visitors are requested to let staff at the reception desk or in the units know when they visit. This is to help us ensure the safety of all clients and visitors to the complex. The outside doors are locked each evening at 6pm during winter and 7pm during summer. After this time, visitors may enter from Kura St through the kitchen, courtyard and the Ward One entrance. This entrance has a doorbell and a security camera, which will alert staff to open the door for visitors.
In time of illness family members are able to stay with clients and provision will be made for them.
