What We Do

The Wellington City Mission operates four community service programmes - Mission for Families, Mission for Youth, Mission for Independence and Mission for Seniors. Through two subsidiary organisations The Mission also runs Kemp Home & Hospital (Mission Residential Care Limited), and our Ezee Meals manufacturing business (Mission Foods Limited).

 

We aim to help people in the Wellington community who:

  • Need help in coping with difficult personal or family circumstances 
  • Are unable to care for themselves
  • Require emergency assistance
  • Cannot cope in mainstream education
  • Are unemployed
  • Are alone and seek social interaction with their peers
  • Seek spiritual guidance

To meet the above needs we have:

Mission for Youth
  • Alternative Education programme
  • Counselling and support
  • Assistance with job and/or tertiary education
  • Motivational workshops and workskills training
  • Employment recruitment and support
  • Supported employment
Mission for Families
  • Emergency support and accommodation
  • Mentoring, advocacy and education
Mission for Independence
Mission for Seniors
Ezee Meals
  • Heat 'n Eat meals
  • 10 main meals, 10 light meals (including all day breakfasts) and 8 desserts
  • Sold through 55 distributors throughout New Zealand
