Mayoral Flood Relief Fund
Wellington’s southern suburbs experienced severe weather in the early hours of Monday 20 April 2026, resulting in significant damage and displacement for many families.
In response, Wellington City Council in partnership with the Wellington City Mission has launched a public relief fund to directly support those impacted by the flooding.

The flood has significantly impacted many families, forcing them to evacuate their homes and resulting in the loss of many possessions and food as they work to rebuild their lives.

Donate Items
Donations of furniture, household goods and appliances are welcome. We do not require clothing, bric a brac or small appliances. Only Furniture and Whiteware.
If you are donating any items, please ensure they are in good clean working condition.
These can be dropped to the Wellington City Mission at Whakamaru, 4 Oxford Terrace, between the hours of 10AM to 2PM Friday to Tuesday.
