Drop-in Centre

The Wellington City Mission Drop-in Centre is a safe haven for people from all walks of life.  A place to relax over a hot drink and be in the company of others, or a place to be away from the pressures of everyday life.  A place where meals are served for nourishment rather than for profit.

At the moment, the Drop-in Centre supports around 50 guests each day.  We ask people for a 20c koha for a cup of tea, coffee or milo.  Soup and bread is available daily at no charge but for larger meals we request a koha to help us cover some costs.

Music, board games and jigsaws are available for use.

A full-time Drop-in Centre coordinator and kitchen supervisor are on duty but we also rely on our volunteers to support with the preparation of food.  The smooth running of the Drop-in Centre depends largely on volunteers, and new volunteers are always needed.

Special events such as a mid-winter feast or a Christmas BBQ are arranged with corporate sponsorship.
