About

The Wellington City Mission has been serving those in need for 118 years.

We’re a charitable trust affiliated to the Anglican Church. We have been helping those most in need in the Wellington region for 118 years having been formed in 1904 from St. Peter’s Church. In 1929, an Act of Parliament established The Mission as a separate entity.

The Wellington City Mission can support you in a number of ways, regardless of your circumstances. We provide supported Transitional Housing, Rest Home and hospital-level residential care. We welcome you into our Community Lounge Tā te Manawa, where you can enjoy the company and community of others. We also provide food support through our Social Supermarket, budget advice and financial mentoring, and 1 to 1 Social Work support and advocacy.

We are open to anyone who needs assistance, regardless of their religious belief, age, ethnicity or social background. Together, we work to identify and address people’s underlying issues to create positive outcomes. You can email us at enquiries@wcm.org.nz or call us on 0800 245 0900.
